About Workforce Development Scholarships
In May 2017, the Minnesota State Legislature designated funding to Minnesota public community and technical colleges for the Workforce Development Scholarships Pilot Program. Additionally, some generous individuals and companies provided match scholarships to help even more students and industries across the region. The program establishes $2,500 scholarships to high school students in Minnesota looking to go into high-demand occupations in one of the 4 following areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Health Care Services, Information Technology and Agriculture. To qualify for these scholarships, students must be a MN resident, a first time college student, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, be enrolled in an eligible program at M State in at least 9 credits per term, and from one of M State’s partner high schools. Overall, 23 students through the region were selected for a Workforce Development Scholarship to attend M State.
We are proud!
We are proud to announce that we participated in the 2018 Workforce Development Scholarships with M-State, Moorhead. It is crucial that we support our community from within and create opportunity for the, up and coming, next generation who want to make a home right here in our community. We can’t wait to see the success of this program take off and to stay connected with Garrett. We know he will do great and we are here for support along the way.
