Kylie has a flare for finance. As a controller for Heritage Homes, she gets down to business and keeps everyone and thing in line and we thank her everyday for it! Kylie was born and raised in the beautiful city of Alexandria, MN, she loves being on the waters of Minnesota, the Vikings and the Backstreet Boys. She moved to Arizona to attend school at Arizona State University when she was offered a scholarship and she LOVES THE HEAT. She later moved back closer to home, received her CPA licensure and the rest is history. So what else don’t we know about Kylie? Let’s find out!
1) Where is your favorite place to travel?
To travel nearby: Alexandria. It is my home and always will hold a piece of my heart. It is so great to be able to go hang out on the lake or the golf course or just to play games with my family or eating with my grandma. To travel outside of the country: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The sun, the sand, the heat, the delicious food…you really can’t go wrong. I love the fact you can just eat and drink all you want.
2) What are your hobbies outside of work?
I am in the process of doing an 18,000 piece puzzle. It is like 2 years in and I’m a little over ½ done. So that consumes time during the winter when I refuse to leave my house, because I think temperatures below zero are inhumane. I also like to play blackjack, pig wheel, and slots. You know within a reasonable budget!
3) Family, Pets?
Family is everything to me. I married my husband, Nate, 3.5 years ago and have my 6 year old furbaby Malibu. Mali is a diva and I love her for that. My dad has been my superhero since I can remember. I will never be able to thank him for all he has done for me. My mom I think is quite literally superwoman. She has done so much for so many people I don’t understand how it is possible. I will look up to both of them as the biggest role models and am so blessed that they are mine.
4) Where is your favorite place to go/eat at in the Fargo-Moorhead area?
So many places….Favorite Burger Spot: JL BEERS. Favorite Hot Sandwich: Grand Junction. Favorite Donut: Sandy’s. Favorite Night Out: Spitfire. Favorite Special Occasion Place: Kobe’s: Scallops, steak, fried rice. Favorite Bread: Texas Roadhouse – I probably eat 7 rolls when I’m there!
5) What excites you about working on the Heritage Homes Team?
I wanted to become an interior designer when I was young and quickly realized numbers made more sense. So now I get to work in a place that looks like HGTV while doing something I can actually be good at. It doesn’t feel like a chore coming to work because something new happens every day. This team has been everything to me since I started 4.25 years ago. I say it all the time but they have been like my second family. They have helped me get through some of the hardest moments in my life and I’ll never be able to thank them enough for that.
6) If you were an emoji which would you be?
😏 Smirky face – I like how this emoji seems like it finds a slight comic relief in any situation. For example: O Kylie tripped over something again or whoops she spilled her entire drink everywhere. I also feel like this emoji would be the one to buy a sequined fanny pack to wear it to an upcoming concert. I tend to try not take life too seriously and try to find the joy in situations.
