Day 8 : MARCH 13

Last day of construction!

Last updated 5/16/2008, 10:46 AM

Well, after another and final 24 hour day, work was completed on the home and delivered to the design team to begin loading furniture and finishing up the interior design features! Yippee! The official key turnover was with Paul, as he has a major role in this specific build.  All together, we are so proud of everyone on the North Dakota crew. The green team sure stepped up to the plate and got the job done!  Even though they keys have been turned over, we didn’t finish without having a slight complication….After a heavy rain today, the equipment was getting stuck in the yard and even a large backhoe couldn’t pull them out! The ruts were as deep as 2 feet! But, somehow they were able to get them unstuck and the sod laid just in time for the keys to be turned over! J A special paving stone was used that allows up to 7 gallons per second of water to pass through and rainwater is collected through a collection system that uses the water for various things in the home. Very efficient and necessary for the hurricane zone! We were working up to the minute to ensure that the sheetrock, taping and touches were done as well as the heating and cooling systems tested and appliances installed.  All the doors were also painted and bathroom tile was laid and grouted.   Hardwood floors cover over 90% of the home and are in various colors and styles…they look great! The fixtures, lighting and trip was also being finished right up until the end.  And lastly, the yard was final graded, sod installed and various trees and shrubs were place. Both, Precision Plumbing, Laughlin Electric, Home Heating and Pro Landscaping played pivotal roles in these finishes! Go North Dakota! The entire cast and crew were on site filming various aspects all day and there are even more surprises planned for the family!!!!! You’ll have to watch on May 18th to find out though! J
