Day 6 of the Build
Last updated 5/16/2008, 10:46 AM
Well, the word is officially out within the job site as explained by several workers…. if you want anything done, find someone from North Dakota and ask the green team! Check out this quote from worker on-site! From another worker, “I was told if I wanted to get answers I should go to a guy in green from North Dakota.” That’s us! This round design is so interesting! Get this…there are more corners and angles in this house than in six houses we normally build! Crazy! Today, Tyrone and Daryl were interview by the ABC crew as part of the season finally and the Westwego fire department had a private function in their honor today and we have heard it was a firs-class event! A great group of college kids showed up and did a huge shout out for Heritage Homes! Go North Dakota! Our website and the videos from this build are becoming known in the Westwego community as several people from around here get updates on the build from our site and LOVE our video commentary! J Nick is officially now known as the “Energizer Bunny” as he has set the group record of over 36 hours without sleep, with Daryl a far second at 27 hours. This house is really starting to come together and there will be over 15 paint colors inside the home along with a solar energy system installed on the roof! The 3 kitchens, one for each family and the 5 bathrooms are just near finish as the final touches are being done. The group from NDSCS was once again on site all day helping out in any way they could. Such a great asset to our North Dakota crew! We had a slight scare today as we found a septic system while removing the old driveway. However, it turned out that it had already been cleaned out and was only full of ground water. PHEW! J When they needed more plumbers during a shift, the lead looking for them said on the radio, “Get me the 3 guys from North Dakota and I’ll be set.” That was after they went through a bunch of different names. He specifically wanted North Dakota guys and their work ethic. Today, the church will be revealed to Pastor Miller and the congregation and the reveal of the Usea family house is set for tomorrow, late afternoon! Almost done!
