Day 4 : MARCH 9

Day 3 of the build

Last updated 5/16/2008, 10:44 AM

Today our crew as well as over 300 builder staff and volunteers attended the brave heart scene; called this because of the scene in the movie with Mel Gibson called Braveheart and after a scene within that move where Gibson and the cast of the movie come running over a hill to attack the enemy.  At Extreme, this “brave heart” scene is all about the builders coming around the corner to attack the project. This is the “official” launch of the build and it was a very inspirational scene for all! Many meetings took place today and the ND crew was very busy! Heritage Homes was made captains, meaning in charge of running elective, plumbing, sheetrock/drywall labor and materials as well as a major section of framing. This is a huge leadership role in the project. Demolition starts, but stops, as other family items are found in a hidden storage area in the attic. Demolition was completed and the site is re-graded, and the foundation is dug, and all concrete poured on schedule. The church build caught-up and our plumbing crew from Precision took an up planned lead to take over making the plumbing happen at the church. Very good ND workers once again making a HUGE impact.Ty, Page, Paul, Eduardo, Mike, Tracy and Ed were all on-site again filming the demo, brave heart and other scenes, including the beginning of the specialty projects for the home. Today was a very busy, but productive day.  Our crew is really stepping it up and we are proud to have such amazing people with us!  We did have one “funny” thing happen today….The police chief threatened, jokingly, to tazer some of our crew…..but only because he liked us so much! J All items for Day 4 are set and pre-staged, and the Heritage Homes crew will be on site at 5 am to manage the day’s activities.
